Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 24, 2026
This Cookies Policy explains how BABALU Fishing Tackle uses cookies and similar technologies on babalu.pt. It should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are small files or identifiers stored or read on the device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, tags, and application identifiers, can perform equivalent functions.
Some cookies are set directly by the store; Others are set by providers like Shopify, payment providers, analytics services, advertising, support, reviews, or installed apps.
2. COOKIE CATEGORIES
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
Enable essential functions such as navigation, security, fraud prevention, cart, checkout, authentication, privacy preferences, and load balancing. Without these cookies, the requested store or service may not function properly. When strictly necessary, they do not depend on consent.
2.2 Preference and functionality cookies
Memorize choices such as language, country, currency, location, session and presentation preferences. They may be treated as non-essential in certain countries and, in this case, they will only be used after the choice is permitted.
2.3 Analysis and performance cookies
They help you understand how visitors use the store, which pages are most consulted, if errors occur and how to improve performance. When legislation requires it, they are only used after consent.
2.4 Marketing and advertising cookies
They can measure campaigns, limit ad repetition, create audiences, personalize advertising or track interactions between websites and platforms. They are only used when there is a legal basis and, in countries where necessary, after consent.
3. PURPOSES
We may use these technologies to:
- keep the website and checkout secure and functional;
- save cart, session, language, country and currency;
- detect fraud, abuse and technical errors;
- measure utilization and performance;
- improve the experience and content;
- attribute sales and evaluate campaigns; and
- present relevant advertising, when authorized.
4. CONSENT AND PREFERENCE MANAGEMENT
In countries where the law requires consent, non-essential cookies remain disabled until the visitor makes a choice. You can accept, refuse or select categories through the privacy preference panel available on the website.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the same panel. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the previous use. The option must be available in the footer or through a link called “Cookie Preferences” or equivalent.
BABALU must keep the configuration of the platform and applications aligned with the visitor's choice. Installation of a new application, pixel or integration must be accompanied by a review of consent and this policy.
The banner is configured for Portugal, other European Union countries, the United Kingdom and Canada, including Quebec. Refusing non-essential cookies does not prevent navigation, the cart or the completion of the purchase.
5. DURATION
Session cookies are normally deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies remain for a period defined by the respective provider or until they are deleted by the user. The actual duration depends on the purpose, Shopify configuration, application and privacy choices.
We don't display a static list of names and deadlines on this page because Shopify and applications can dynamically change or create cookies. Browser preferences and tools should reflect actually active providers and categories.
6. BROWSER SETTINGS
Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent your cart, account or checkout from functioning. Instructions are usually found in the browser's privacy or security settings.
7. PRIVACY SIGNS AND RIGHTS IN THE UNITED STATES
When applicable state law requires it, we seek to recognize supported universal opt-out mechanisms, such as Global Privacy Control, to opt out of certain sales, sharing or targeted advertising. Availability depends on the technical configuration of the platform and the scope of applicable law.
8. SUPPLIERS AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Currently relevant technologies and integrations include:
- Shopify, Shop and Shopify Network Intelligence: store operation, security, preferences, measurement, personalization and Advanced Services. Non-essential purposes respect the choices made in the banner;
- Google & YouTube: analysis, conversion measurement and advertising. The consent mode adapts the storage of cookies and the use of data to the visitor's choice. When analytics or advertising storage is declined, limited signals may be sent without cookies for measurement and modeling, without reading or writing Google cookies in these categories;
- Judge.me Reviews: presentation and analysis of assessments, depending on consent for Data Analysis in configured regions;
- Amazon MCF and Buy with Prime: delivery and, where applicable, measurement functions, dependent on consent for Marketing and Data Analysis;
- Shopify Collabs: Ambassador Program management and attribution, depending on consent for Marketing and Data Analysis when the pixel is used;
- Shopify Messaging: support and communications related to visitor interaction; and
- Translate & Adapt: translation of store content, currently no customer data permissions declared.
Some of these providers may process data outside the visitor's country. For information about recipients, grounds, Shopify Network Intelligence, transfers and rights, see Privacy Policy.
9. CHANGES
We may update this policy when cookies, applications, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top indicates the most recent version.
